The MCG Group is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Ipswich-based Poppy Nursing and Care Services Ltd, a supplier of nurses and carers to hospital trusts and care homes across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and the wider UK.
The MCG Group, which has recently undertaken a major Group-wide rebrand project (previously the McGinley Group), is a forward-thinking collection of companies providing people-focused services in the aerospace & aviation, construction, education, healthcare and technology sectors.
A Sunday Times Best Company To Work For 2020 and an FT Fastest Growing Company 2018, the acquisition of Poppy Nursing and Care Services Ltd supports the Group’s continuing expansion. It also compliments its existing healthcare recruitment brand, MCG Healthcare, which specialises in placing primary & secondary care professionals; including nursing, doctors & allied health professionals (AHP) to public and private sector healthcare settings.
The acquisition agreement closed on 10 November, having been approved by core members of the Board of Directors and top shareholders.

Poppy Nursing and Care Services Ltd will retain its branding and well established trading name, working alongside MCG Healthcare. Over time the MCG Group plans to merge the brand into MCG Healthcare, to give all our healthcare clients greater access to primary & secondary care professionals nationwide.
This is the MCG Group’s fourth acquisition in the last two years. Its first acquisition was First Choice Recruitment Ltd into its construction portfolio in 2018; technology recruitment agency Creative Personnel Ltd in June 2019 and Simply Education in Sept 2019.
