Due to continued growth and expansion globally, The MCG Group is looking to appoint an IT Director that can lead the existing IT team and develop a technology strategy to take the group into the future. MCG is on a journey from just over 300 to 1000 employees and we want the right candidate to join us on this exciting opportunity. As a group of recruitment and service businesses, we are looking for a dynamic individual who has both strong technical knowledge and experience as well as great leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will literally help shape and lead how this group of successful businesses will stay at the forefront of technology in our ever changing and fast paced business environment.

The Group IT Director will report directly to the COO and group board on all ongoing technology related projects as well as being responsible for the overall tech strategy including all inhouse and 3rd party systems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leading with service – as part of the Central Services team it is essential that the IT department have a service first mindset and a solutions focus to the business needs and challenges.
  • Manage the IT team (currently 6 staff) and shape the team of the future with strategic hiring to support the overall plan. Ensuring all personal development and career paths are clearly laid out.
  • Lead innovation and adoption of new technology where beneficial to our process & procedures. This will include both 3rd party system implementation as well as inhouse development of system integrations and dash boards.
  • Keep up to date with and lead all process and policy related implementation to ensure good governance within the department and all group related technology.
  • Project Management – ensure that all IT related projects are managed in a timely and responsive basis with clearly defined roles, responsibilities and implementation.
  • Global network and infrastructure stability – ensure that a full continuity plan is in place to support the needs of the groups multi-site and multi-national locations.
  • Integration – as a growing group with multiple acquisitions each year, planning and delivering a strong integration plan within each newly acquired business to full integrate both systems and people.
  • Budget – managing and planning the budget for both IT staffing and systems across the group
  • Security – working closely with our compliance department to ensure all risks are identified and relevant process & procedures are in place and updated where needed to maintain a safe and secure environment.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of implementing Cyber essentials across a group companies estate.
  • Experience of implementing ISO27001 across a group companies estate.
  • Experience of managing software development teams, for either bespoke web/mobile application development and integration API development of third party products.
  • Experience managing infrastructure and software deployed fully in the cloud, AWS and Azure - Azure preferred.
  • Experience managing development teams delivering .Net solutions, preferably hosted on a server-less Azure cloud footprint.
  • Experience managing agile software development teams, introducing new ways of working in line with best practice
  • Experience leading on a group IT Operations and support capacity in line with expected frameworks (ITIL, Prince 2, COBOL etc).
  • Evidence of leading transformation projects implementing a combination of third party software implementations and associated internal integrations would be essential.
  • Evidence of leading IT transformation strategies to drive adoption, utilization and employee engagement would be essential.
  • Evidence of creating consolidated management and reporting solutions across a group of companies would be preferred.
  • Recruitment industry or HR Technology would be preferred.
